NINA MARCANO batting at The Beach
League. Nina's mom reveals that
Nina is already missing family,
friends, and teammates!
Wesley Wolverine sophomore catcher Nina Marcano's mom, Mrs. Ivelisse Marcano, has forwarded a bakers dozen of much appreciated photos from the first few days of The Beach League camp.

Mrs. Marcano traveled to South Carolina with Nina and her son Carlos last Friday. She plans to return to Delaware at the end of this week.

Nina's mom reports that Wolverine Head Coach Juli Greep is expected to attend Beach League games next week and that Wesley Wolverine junior MI Bre Hartman and her family may be in the area, as well. (CLICK HERE for the blog post about the Hartman softball family.)

PHOTO CREDITS: The information in the photo captions below are all based on information supplied by Nina's Mom. All the photos were taken by her, too.

NINA STEALS SECOND BASE on the first day of games. Nina's mom shares:
Nina is rooming with a girl that reminds her of (Wesley Wolverine junior OF)
Steph Caracozza. (Roommate must be a strong hitter that can run like the wind!?)

ON LEFT, ORANGE SHIRT IS CAUGHT IN RUNDOWN, where she is ultimately tagged
out by Nina, who is playing at first base. On right, Nina grabs a high outside
pitch behind the plate. Nina's mom mentions that so far Nina has played
first base, right field, and catcher positions. She says: “They are rotating the
girls all the time. There is a lot of talent within the team.”

NINA MAINTAINS GOOD COMMUNICATIONS, consulting with umpire and
Washington Husky senior pitcher Hailey Bator (Cle Elum, WASH).

COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATIONS AT TRUE BLUE RESORT. Nina's mom says:
“True Blue resort is on Pawley’s Island, South Carolina.  The condo is very
nice and big. There are 7 girls per condo. Nina is the youngest of the 7.
Waccamaw high school (where The Beach League games are held) --
home of “The Warriors” – is located less than a mile from the resort.

RESORT OFFERS MUCH TO DO during down time. Nina's Mom remarks:
“When not playing, the players spend their time at the gym, pool, beach,
napping or just hanging/relaxing around the area.”
NINA POSES WITH MARTY RADFORD, The Beach League organizer.
