She says the experience has had a real impact on her life. "I love coming here,” she says about South America, “and experiencing the different culture than I am use to. It helps me grow as a person. That is what this game is all about. It helps us with life."
The Argentinians have adapted to softball with a passion. “They have a true love for the game,” Amanda says. “They are out there playing because they love the game and want to get better. They do not have all of the opportunities that I was fortunate to have growing up, but that has not stopped them from playing the game.”
Softball teaches so many of life's lessons. She advises the Argentinian national team and all who play the game: “Dream big and continue to have that strong love for the game. Continue to strive to make each other better. Set goals and reach them. Never give up. Find a way to make it happen. Be the best version of yourself possible. Always be itching to learn more. Be willing to make a change. Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.”
