Wesley Wolverine softball opens 2/23,
Sunday, against DC's Gallaudet Bison

If the past is any indication, our Wesley Wolverines are headed for a hard fought opening doubleheader played across the bay a week from this Sunday. The opponents will be the Gallaudet Bison.

Last year Gallaudet posted a 11-29 (.275) record. They played particularly tough at home holding opponents with a 10-10 (.500) win/loss mark.
The Bison also brought two nail-biters to our Wesley Wolverines in Dover last March.
Wesley at home on DuPont Field in 2013 topped Gallaudet by just a single run for identical 9-8 victories in both ends of a doubleheader. Gallaudet showed up hitting the ball with multiple opportunities to turn both games around. But they left 19 Bison on base for the day, while Wesley stranded just 9.
In these two games, Wolverines sophomore #2 Sarah Saunders (Wayne, NJ) slammed 5-for 8 with two doubles, sophomore #8 Steph Caracozza (Melbourne Beach, FL) hit 4-for-8, sophomore #22 Morgan Seymour (Smyrna, DE) belted 3-for-6 with a triple, sophomore #32 Kayla Fromal (Middletown, DE) knocked out 3-for-7 and senior #16 Ashly Bendorovich (Levittown, PA) went 2-for-3. All five Wesley players will take the field again this year.

Game times this Sunday, February 23, are at 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM on the Gallaudet Bison's beautiful softball complex in downtown Washington DC. The softball field extends 190’ down the lines and 202’ in straight away center field. The address is 800 Florida Avenue NE, Washington, DC 20002.
