As the season opens, there are three team bats -- all Louisville Slugger's Xeno Fastpitch Softball brand -- in the Wolverine dugout.
This bat's special construction and technology, which is best explained in the first video
below, creates an extremely flexible barrel. It seems to flex in and flex out again when making contact with the ball, something like a slingshot! This unusual "flex" can be seen in the second video below. The bat has become in recent years increasingly prominent among college softball teams across the nation.
