MYRTLE BEACH PREVIEW

Myrtle Beach preview
Wesley looks to build on winning
offense, pitching, & running game

Our Wesley Wolverines play Baptist Bible Defenders a week from this Monday at the Fastpitch Dreams Classic tourney on March 10 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Brook Creighton last Sunday:
3-for-5 with triple, stolen base,
2 runs scored, 4 RBI, and 0 LOB.
What to expect? Well, Baptist Bible traveled today, Saturday, March 1, to take on Gallaudet Bison on that same beautiful artificial turf where the Wolverines swept a double header just a week ago.

Same opponent, same field, separated by six days...

WESLEY WOLVERINES

The Wolverines had an awesome Sunday last week – hitting, running game, pitching, everything seemed to be working. The lineup went 25-for-62 for a .403 batting average (.479 on base).

Wesley had 4 doubles (Marcano; Mackay; Saunders; Hartman), 2 triples (Siok; Creighton), a home run (Marcano), and 4 stolen bases (Bendorovich; Mackay; Saunders; Creighton) for 21 RBI (Saunders 4; Creighton 4; Marcano 4; Siok 3; Bendorovich 1; Mackay 1; Hartman 1; Seymour 1; Wilson 1; Mahoski 1) in just 12 innings played.

Against Wolverine pitching (Siok; Engel), the Bison batted .095 to manage 2 runs.

BAPTIST BIBLE DEFENDERS

The Defenders dropped two today against the Bison, losing the opener in a squeaker after a late innings comeback. Baptist Bible sophomore pitcher Amber Kachelries tossed a complete game, allowing only 4 earned runs, but lost the contest in extra innings 7-6. She also picked up her own hit, RBI, and swiped base.

On the day, Defenders junior 1B/3B Kristen Corbett was 3-for-6 with a double, triple, a run scored, and 2 RBI, while junior LF/1B Erica Thomson also was 3-for-6 with an RBI.

Nina Marcano last Sunday: 4-for-7 with
home run, double, 3 runs scored, and 4 RBI.
Wolverines should prepare well for The Defenders. The Colonial States Athletic Conference's (CSAC) preseason poll picks Baptist Bible to finish 5th in the 12 member league, where all CSAC teams are fully contending.

Baptist Bible brings 6 seasoned juniors and a senior among a more than talented squad to their games. They have the bats, the defense, and the pitching to win on any day or any field.

Sarah Saunders last Sunday: 5-for-7 with a double,
