6 GAME WEEEKEND

Six game, long weekend
Three consecutive doubleheaders:
Newport News, Dover, Philadelphia


A big three-day weekend happens just hours from now. 
Pink game is home, 
Sunday, April 13

The Wesley Wolverines will be on the road Saturday morning, April 12, for a conference doubleheader in Newport News, VA, only to return promptly for a Sunday, April 13,  pink game to strike out cancer doubleheader back in Dover, DE. (Wolverines will be dressed in pink shirts for the games.)

Fans are encouraged to wear PINK along with their Wolverine navy blue and white for the Sunday “Strike Out Cancer” contest.

Then, Monday the team heads for the Philadelphia suburbs for still another doubleheader to finish off six games over three days.

est news is that weather is favorable for the entire schedule.

After the Sunday games, squad members plan to help coach a Special Olympics softball practice session on the their home Reynolds DuPont Field, Dover, DE.

PREVIEW: Get ready Wolverines, the D3 NFCA #14 nationally ranked Captains have pitching that can be the equal of Salisbury's hurlers that our batters faced last Wednesday. Sophomore #1 pitcher Krista Lewis (15-2) has earned a 1.64 ERA, while sophomore #2 lefty pitcher Hanah Marshall boasts a 2.82 ERA. Behind the two is freshman #48 P/ 1B Makayla Jenkins (4-1) and her 0.50 ERA. The Captains are the only team to best the #1 ranked Salisbury Sea Gulls this season.

PREVIEW: The Fighting Tigers are 2-4 (with a doubleheader on Saturday) in a season of 30 contests all played during the month of April only. Top hitters are sophomore #12 catcher Madeline DeMelio batting .471 and senior #8 shortstop Kelsey DeZalia with a .429 average.

APPROACHING COLLEGE: Take King of Prussia Road past the main entrance of Cabrini and turn left onto Upper Gulph Road. Then enter Cabrini's campus on the left. Turn right into the first parking lot. The building on the right is the Dixon Center. In upper left-hand corner of the lot, a wooded hill located next to Dixon Field leads to Cabrini Field. Mostly sunny and warm; hi of 76 degrees.

PREVIEW: The Cavaliers, 12-11, appear a balanced team, according to the stats, in both pitching and hitting. Three sluggers are sophomore #20 shortstop Kaitlyn Cooper, .434 average/ .658 slugging; freshman #2 outfielder Amber Dietrich, .411 average/ .740 slugging; and freshman #11 2B/ 3B Lindsay Savar, .405 average/ .514 slugging.
